In 2006, pastry chefs in a small town in southwestern Germany collectively created what was then the world's largest Black Forest cake; it was 10 meters in diameter, weighed 3 tons, and used 5,600 eggs, 700 liters of cream, 800 kilograms of cherries, and 120 liters of cherry liqueur.
On April 4, 2016, a giant Black Forest cake measuring 4 meters long and 4 meters wide was unveiled in Changsha, Hunan Province, and was shared free of charge with 3,000 attendees; simultaneously, it was recognized by the Shanghai World Guinness Headquarters as the "World's Largest Black Forest Cake."
